December 2012

Happy Holidays Class of 2015!

By now I am hoping you are out of your Thanksgiving food comas and are in the full swing of preparing for finals.  While this time can be stressful I encourage you to also be mindful of taking study breaks and getting enough rest.  To help you celebrate the holiday season I have included some great holiday events going on in San Antonio that I encourage you to take advantage of if you can find the time.  more>>

Surviving Exam Period
Exam period is coming, and professors of upper-division classes write some tough exams!  Therefore, it is in your best interest to start preparing now.   First, make a list of all your remaining assignments and exams.   Second, break each task into manageable steps.  Third, estimate how many hours it will take you to accomplish each step for each item on your list.  Fourth, put the items on a calendar with your time estimates written next to them.  Now you can see how many hours of work are needed on the days leading up to each due date, so you can plan accordingly.  For more specific study skills, please visit Counseling Services’ self-help page.

Dear Sophomores,
Check out the exciting events below that will be happening over Winter Break!  Winter Break Making Connections events happen annually all over the country in early January.  Hosted by Trinity Alumni Chapters, these events are special opportunities for students and alumni to come together, network, and build lasting, professional relationships.  You can find more information about these events and R.S.V.P. in TigerJobs Even though you may have no idea where your career path is headed, you can benefit immensely from getting to know our alumni and hearing about their experiences.  So, mark your calendars! Finally, we’d like to remind you that our office will remain open December 1– 21, so feel free to call for an appointment with a career advisor (we also meet with students via Skype!) at 210-999-8321.  We’ll be closed December 24 – January 1.   We wish you the best of luck on your final exams, and we look forward to your return next semester! more>>
